The Master of Arts in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a 90 ECTS credits programme. It is a dual award Master’s programme where graduates will receive a Master of Arts in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from IBES, France and UCAM- Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, Spain.

The programme is designed for busy professionals working in logistics and supply chain, or related functions, this programme is designed emphasising a strategic approach to logistics and supply chain management (SCM). The emerging and rapidly changing global industries impacted by increasing advanced technology, data-driven, ethics and global sustainability agenda requires a fresh and updated programme of study to equip managers and leaders in this field.

This programme will cover core and contemporary logistics and supply chain topics with a strong focus on analytics, sustainability, ethics and technology application relevant to practitioners from a wide range of industry sectors. Aims

The Master of Arts in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is designed to develop the learner’s ability to acquire the knowledge and skills to undertake critical analysis and problem identification and solving abilities in the field of logistics and supply chain management within an increasingly technology, data-driven, and global sustainability environment focus.

The educational aims of the programme include:

  • Advance study of logistics and supply chain management practices in response to the changing external environment in which logistics and supply chain organisations operate.
  • Preparing students for careers in logistics and supply chain management by equipping them with a systematic, broad and integrated understanding and application of key aspects of logistics and supply chain management strategies, technology adoption and business analytics.
  • Development of professional and business research skills.
  • Application of knowledge and understanding of business and management with an emphasis on solving complex issues, both systematically and logistics and in supply chain management practice.

Programme Learning Outcomes

Learners graduating from the Master of Arts in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be able to:

  • Acquire comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice relating to logistics and supply chain management operations.
  • Adopt appropriate logistics and SCM tools and strategies in response to volatile, technological and global business environment to enhance performance.
  • Examine the role and important contribution of freight transport companies and logistics service providers within the context of national and international supply chain operations.
  • Examine the external influences (e.g. political, economic, environmental, technological) which influence the roles of, and interrelationships between, supply chain partners and other stakeholders.
  • Examine the relationship between logistics and other supply chain activities (particularly in Purchasing Management and Logistics Management).
  • Develop a range of analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, necessary for understanding and analysing logistics and supply chain activities.
  • Assess the sustainability impacts of supply chain activities and the ways in which the impacts can be implemented, measured and reported.

Assessments

The modules are assessed through a work-based management report, assignments and/or case studies or simulations.

The work-based management report shall be between 4,000 – 4,500 words.

Entry Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s Degree qualification in any subject from a recognised institution**; OR
2. A professional qualification equivalent to a degree and a minimum of two years of working experience
3. Demonstrate English Language proficiency in order to participate in the programme taught in English.** A qualification from a recognised university is a degree or diploma that has been awarded by an institution that is accredited or otherwise recognised by a relevant authority of the country.

Proficiency in English include either a recognised English proficiency testing score of IELTS overall band of 5.5 or equivalent. Those having undertaken either an undergraduate or professional qualification taught and assessed in English will also be accepted as having met the English proficiency.

Subject to the final approval of IBES, any potential student that has done a qualification examined in English at European Qualification Framework ( EQF) level 3 and above would satisfy the English requirement.

For those that are not able to provide the above proof of English, an English test administered by ESOL Awards is available and on passing this at B2 level, the learner would satisfy the English language requirement. Please contact IBES for details.

Notional Hours

Notional hours are defined in terms of the amount of time it should take a learner to achieve the learning outcomes. Each ECTS credit requires, on average, 25 notional hours of a learner’s time.
