My name is Anson, and I am a Doctor’s in Education student at IBES from Hong Kong. During my studies at IBES, I have had the privilege of learning from three dedicated professors: Dr Ramesh, Professor Vijay, and my supervisor, Dr Deepika Kohli. Throughout the course, I learned how to design a research project, apply educational theories to real-world issues, and analyse data meaningfully. Beyond academic knowledge, the course also helped me develop patience, clearer communication, and a stronger sense of academic integrity. Each professor contributed meaningfully to my learning journey. Dr Ramesh helped me strengthen my theoretical foundation, Professor Vijay guided me in structuring my arguments more logically, and Dr Deepika Kohli explained concepts clearly while supporting me throughout my final project. Her understanding and encouragement made the process more engaging, even during challenging moments. With their guidance, I have not only completed my doctor's project but also grown more confident as an education researcher. I am deeply grateful for their support and guidance.

I am Dilrukshi Gunawardana from Sri Lanka, a Master of Education student at IBES from the September 2024 intake. My experience pursuing the Master of Education programme at IBES has been truly enriching and transformative. The programme provided me with valuable knowledge, practical insights, and contemporary perspectives on educational leadership and management. I was privileged to learn from highly knowledgeable and supportive lecturers. Dr. Vijay's guidance in Digital Leadership in Education, Organizational Culture and School Improvement, and Educational Leadership and Management greatly enhanced my understanding of effective educational leadership. Dr. Mary's expertise in Strategic Management and Leading Change inspired me to think strategically and embrace innovation in educational settings. Dr. Ramesh provided excellent support in Research in Educational Leadership & Management, helping me strengthen my research skills and academic confidence. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Deepika, who welcomed us during the Orientation Session and later served as the supervisor and module leader for my Work-based Capstone Project. A goal-orientated, structured, and experience-based doctoral programme designed to deepen subject-specific expertise and to excel in both application-orientated and research-related competencies. As a teacher and sports coach, I decided to pursue this doctoral program in order to expand my expertise in organizational and leadership work within schools and sports clubs, as well as to deepen my application-oriented and research-related competencies. Beyond the expansion of my competencies, choosing this flexible doctoral program proved to be an excellent decision for me, as it integrated seamlessly into my private and family life, as well as my professional career. I received highly individualized support from the relevant university staff – precisely tailored to my prior experience and interests – which manifested in practice-orientated suggestions and valuable feedback. This enabled me to develop a personal research topic into a research proposal and subsequently pursue it as the subject of my dissertation. Another advantage of the Doctor of Education program at IBES University is that the entire course of The study is conducted online. In addition to the live online sessions, lectures are recorded and archived by the instructors, enabling access to these recordings – as well as to other provided course materials – at any time and from anywhere via the online platform. Furthermore, the integrated LIRN portal offers the opportunity to conduct independent research.

I am pleased to submit this testimonial as part of my application for the Doctor of Education (EdD) programme in support of my research proposal. My professional journey with the UN Police started in 2008, initially as a Public Order Officer, then as a Human Resources Management Adviser, and currently as a Training Adviser based in Brindisi, Italy. This journey has been shaped by a strong commitment to capacity building, adult learning, and the advancement of professional standards in international policing and peacekeeping contexts. Over the years, I have been directly involved in designing training strategies, delivering, and evaluating training programmes for diverse audiences, including Formed Police Units, senior police officers at strategic and operational levels, and individual officers at the technical level. These experiences have strongly shaped my decision to pursue doctoral study. Through my work, I have developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of effective education and evidence-based training approaches. At the same time, I have observed clear gaps between theoretical frameworks and their practical application in post-conflict settings. These insights have motivated me to undertake research that contributes to academic knowledge while also providing practical solutions for professional training environments within broader reform contexts. My research proposal reflects both my professional experience and my academic ambitions. It is grounded in real-world challenges and shaped by a strong commitment to improving learning outcomes, strengthening institutional capacity, and supporting sustainable development in education and training. I am motivated to explore new approaches that enhance learning effectiveness, engagement, and long-term impact. I bring to this programme discipline, and a reflective approach to professional practice. I am committed to engage with existing literature, applying thorough research methodologies, and contributing to academic and professional communities. I strongly value collaboration and knowledge sharing and look forward to engaging with peers and faculty in a constructive and intellectually stimulating environment. I am confident that this programme will equip me with the theoretical depth and research skills needed to contribute to the continuous improvement of education and training practices within international and institutional contexts. I am fully committed to successfully completing this doctoral journey and ensuring that my research generates meaningful, practical, and lasting impact.
